In
my dealings with the local councils as a
Parish Councillor and Chairman
of the Buckingham Business Club, I have become aware that there
is a
political slant given to issues.
Although
many of the issues that
are raised impact
on our area, party councillors are often directed to
vote with their political party, irrespective of the effect on our
villages and communities.
As an Independent
member I would be able to raise
your issues
and vote to influence the policies that
are right for our community and
in the best interests of local people. The current structure of the
Council with political
groupings means that the independent members often provide a balancing
voting power able to influence outcomes.
